Professor Attahiru Jega who retired as Independent National Electoral Commision chairman on June 30, is back at his old desk.
The professor resumed work today as a lecturer at the department of Political Science, Bayero University Kano.
It would be recalled that Prof. Jega had said he would be returning to the classroom to teach once he completed his tenure as INEC chairman – one hailed as presiding over a landmark election that saw the opposition topple a sitting incumbent for the first time in Nigerian democratic history.
The new (and acting) INEC chairman, Amina Bala Zakari had praised her predecessor for raising the standard of electoral practice in the country.
