President Muhammadu Buhari met briefly with embattled House of Representatives member Femi Gbajabiamila at the Presidential Villa on Friday.
One of the principal actors in the twin leadership crisis rocking the federal legislature, Gbajabiamila was the preferred choice of the All Progressives Congress leadership for the position of the Speaker.
Friday’s meeting was the second such meeting between Buhari and Gbajabiamila.
Unlike the first one where Buhari met the lawmaker and 29 legislative colleagues, only Gbajabiamila met Buhari this time around.
Gbajabiamila didn’t take questions from journalists.
He simply said he was in a hurry “to see the Chairman” – an obvious reference to the APC national chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun.
