The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Abdullahi Dikko Inde has voluntarily resigned.
It is unclear why Inde, a native of Katsina like President Muhammadu Buhari, but openly supported Goodluck Jonathan in the last election, resigned.
Nonetheless, some observers believe the resignation to be a preemptive measure against a sack.
Inde joined the NCS in 1988.
“I hereby approve your voluntary retirement from the Nigeria Customs Service with effect from 18th August 2015,” Buhari said in a letter to the ex-comptroller general.
