The screening of Buhari’s ministerial picks is expected to continue today (Wednesday), after 10 nominees scaled the screening procedure put together by the senate on Tuesday.

Among those screened on Tuesday were Udo Udoma, Lai Mohammed, Amina Mohammed, Kayode Fayemi, Adulrahman Dambazau, Audu Ogbeh, Ogbonnaya Onu and Osagie Ehanire.

Former governors of Lagos, Anambra and Rivers, Babatunde Fashola, Chris Ngige and Rotimi Amaechi respectively, are expected to take the floor beginning from 11am today. NNPC boss, Ibe Kachikwu is also expected to answer questions from parliament on Wednesday.

By senate schedule, 11 other nominees from the first list sent by Muhammadu Buhari, will pass through the screening this week. The senate had received the second and final batch of nominees on Monday and will screen those beginning next week.

During Tuesday’s screening, the nominees were grilled on national and food security, the economy and their past records in official capacity.

It was a lively session punctuated with drama and humor.
