Former chairman of the Presidential Task team on Pension Matters, Abdulrasheed Maina, has been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for looting funds meant for retired Nigerian workers.

Premium Times quotes EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, as saying that the anti-graft agency has already secured an arrest warrant against the former pension boss.

He said the warrant will enable the commission to arrest Mr. Maina “wherever he is in the world”.

In 2012, the senate ordered the then Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Abubakar to arrest the head of pension reform task team, Abdulrasheed Maina and bring him before the Senate Joint Committee on establishment of states and local government administration.

This followed a warrant of arrest signed by the former president of the senate, David Mark with respect to Maina’s refusal to honour several invitations by the committee investigating alleged mismanagement of pension funds to the tune of N195 billion.

He has also been interrogated by parliamentary committees in the past and let off the hook.

A tainted man since that period, Maina has been hounded at home by security and anti-graft agencies.

There is no word at this time on his likely whereabouts.
