Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, has been President Muhamadu Buhari’s BFF for a while now. His latest sermon from his hallowed prayer ground went some way to cementing that relationship:
1. A band of young men and women in the country’s South have barricaded roads and shut down entire cities with their agitation for a sovereign State called Biafra; but Mbaka is not even remotely impressed:
“Biafra supporters are evil. Locking up your shops and disrupting economic activities will not add any naira to your pocket, whatever grievance you have could be resolved through dialogue.’’
2. Mbaka said the fact that Buhari’s wife, Aisha, kicked off her free health screening for women in Enugu is proof that the Buharis love the South-East in spite of what some may think.
“President Buhari is not the cause of poor roads, unemployment and other decay of infrastructure in the south east, we should blame our leaders.
“Most of the roads had been awarded but our leaders squandered the fund, even the university teaching hospital in Enugu is a no-go-area and our leaders are not concerned about it.”
3. Mbaka also commended the President for handing out key portfolios to the Igbos in his newly formed cabinet.
“President Buhari’s action has proven that the South East has not been marginalized. I would have reacted if no minister emerged from the zone.’’
But that last sentence is a constitutional impossibility, anyway.
