A Federal High Court sitting in Makurdi today ordered the enforcement of its Judgment delimiting the constituencies of the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly.
Consequentially, it ordered INEC to withdraw the Certificate of Return it previously issued to Hon. Terkimbi Ikyange, APC, who is the Speaker of the Benue State House Of Assembly and who represents the people of Ushongo at the State House of Assembly and to conduct elections within 90 days for the Ushongo and Mbagwa state constituencies.
The order was sequel to a suit filed by Messrs. Hyacinth Nyakuma and John Iyo seeking the nullification of April 11, 2015, State Assembly election in the area in which Hon. Terkimbi Ikyange emerged the winner, and for an order compelling INEC to conduct elections into the two state constituencies of Mbagwa and Ushongo, in an enforcement of the earlier judgement of the court on the matter in 2005.
