Former Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to erstwhile President Goodluck Jonathan, Dr. Doyin Okupe, has said his office was on a monthly salary from the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA).
That office at the time was headed by Sambo Dasuki who is currently being tried by the state for frittering billions of dollars meant for the procurement of arms.
Okupe however said he had nothing to do with #DasukiGate; the coinage for the trial of persons who benefited from slush funds from the former NSA.
“I was not paid arms deal money. The NSA paid for the running of my office monthly from August 2012. Dasukigate was in 2014.I did not take part in the campaign,” said Okupe on his twitter page.

Okupe reportedly received at least N1.6bn from Dasuki in three shady cyber security contracts, according to investigators.
