A former Minister of Mines and Steel, Musa Sada, has confessed to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, that he took part in the alleged N23.29billion election bribery scandal.
Mr. Sada served in the administration of immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan. He’s one in a handful of former ministers now being investigated by the anti-graft agency for complicity in theft and fraud.
During investigation, Mr. Sada disclosed that he was authorised by a former governor of Katsina State, Ibrahim Shema, to collect N700million on behalf of Katsina State and remit same to the state’s formerCommissioner of Finance.
The commissioner was asked to keep the money for the governor, the EFCC disclosed in a statement.
Another former Minister, Asabe Asmau Ahmed, from Niger State, revealed how she personally signed and collected N450million. Mrs Ahmed was minister of state for Agriculture.
Mrs. Ahmed also stated that she kept N105million for herself and transferred the balance to top ranking PDP officials in Niger State.
