Former aviation minister, Chief Femi Fani Kayode has been granted bail in the sum of N250m by a federal high court in Lagos.
Justice Muslim Hassan granted the bail with two sureties in like sum and ordered Fani-Kayode to deposit his passport in the custody of the court pending the determination of the case.
Former Minister of State for Finance, Nenadi Usman and one Danjuma Yusuf, also got bail with similar conditions.
Fani Kayode et al were first arraigned on June 28, 2016 before Justice Hassan on 17 counts bordering on conspiracy, unlawful retention of proceeds of theft and money laundering.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) accused the former top players in erstwhile president Jonathan’s election campaign, of fraud to the tune of N4.9bn.
Part of the money came from the sum earmarked for the procurement of arms but which was allegedly frittered by former NSA Sambo Dasuki.
