Aishat Buhari, wife of the APC Presidential candidate Muhammadu Buhari, has assured first lady Patience Jonathan that her husband would be too busy sorting Nigeria out when he becomes President to send anyone to jail.
On the campaign trail, Patience Jonathan has used the looming specter of jail time to warn people off her husband’s opponent in the race. She has also said she fears going to jail with flasks of food for her husband who may be incarcerated in the event of a Buhari Presidency. But Aishat has said those fears are unfounded.
“For those that are campaigning, saying that he (Buhari) is coming to jail Nigerians, I don’t know what their fear is.
“But they shouldn’t be afraid because we are all yearning for change.
“The insecurity in the country, the very poor healthcare system, lack of education and other basic necessities that people are lacking, I believe Nigerians need somebody like General Muhammadu Buhari now”.
Buhari’s wife who was speaking at a campaign event in Edo State, said girl trafficking will be at the heart of her agenda when her husband becomes President.
“I am here today to say that when my husband is elected into the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, all these are going to be history. The insecurity, girl-child trafficking, suffering of the widows in the South-East will; all of them will come to an end.”
