President Muhammadu Buhari this afternoon flagged off commercial activities on the Abuja-Kaduna railway project; to kick-start his administration’s promise to complete critical infrastructure in a bid to buoy a failing economy.
The Abuja-Kaduna standard-gauge railway line will ply Idu terminus to Kubwa Station, some 18kms apart.
At the commissioning, the president promised that his administration will ramp up efforts aimed at completing critical infrastructure nationwide.
Presidential spokesperson, Tolu Ogunlesi said the “Abuja-Kaduna line is part of the planned Lagos-Kano line. The second rail priority is the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Rail.”
The president rode on the train from Idu to Kubwa during the commissioning.
