Senate President, David Mark, on Monday reassured the Idoma community that their agitations for an Apa State would be created if President Goodluck Jonathan wins reelection.

Mark gave this assurance while addressing the electorate in Ogbadibo, Okpokwu and Ado local government areas of Benue during a campaign tour.

He enjoined them people to re-elect him to the senate to enable him work towards the realisation of creation of the long proposed Apa state, as well as vote for President Goodluck Jonathan and other candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, which he described as the future of Nigeria.

Mark, a former governor of Niger State, added that the President’s reelection would hasten the creation of states, including a state for the Idoma people.

He told the people that the Federal Executive Council had adopted the resolutions of the Constitutional Conference, which recommended the creation of states.

In his remarks at the event, interior minister, Abba Moro called on Ogbadibo people to persuade Daniel Onjeh, the All Progressives Congress senatorial candidate to drop his ambition.

According to Moro, who is campaign director of the Senate President, the Idoma people have unanimously endorsed Mark as their sole candidate for the senate.
