Ahead of Saturday’s crunch presidential vote, the All Progressives Congress vice-presidential candidate, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday, March 25, received 56 prominent Peoples Democratic Party members in Ondo’s northern senatorial district.
They included factional PDP Publicity Secretary, Gani Mohammed and 55 others led by Engr. Kola Ojomo, all of whom hail from Owo local government.
Osinbajo received the defectors, while touring some communities in the state including Oke-Agbe, Arigidi, Akungba, Oka, Isua Akoko, Owo and Okitipupa.
Osinbajo said the APC will win the South West and that presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari will emerge victorious in elections seen by many as the closest in Nigeria’s democratic history.
Buhari’s running mate also campaigned at the ward of the first civilian governor of the old Ondo state (now Ondo and Ekiti states), the late Adekunle Ajasin, in Igboroko in Owo local council.
He was accompanied by Bola Ilori, Dr. Paul Akintelure, Tunji Abayomi, Otunbaa Oyewole Fasawe, Jamiu Ekungba, Mrs. Jumoke Anifowose, Akinfehina Apata, Coordinator of Buhari Support Organisation (BSO), Kehinde Henry Bello, Senator Boroffice among others.
He said if elected, the party will give priority to employment opportunities for all, as it formed the core point for youth development nationally.
Osinbajo also called on members and leaders of the party not to be intimidated by the PDP on election day, saying they should be courageous and work towards victory.
