French President, Francois Hollande, has invited President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, to Paris for bilateral talks.
The French embassy, in a statement in Abuja on Thursday, said the European nation is interested in expanding trade between both countries.
The embassy also said that the French leader, in a telephone conversation, congratulated Buhari on his success and noted that the generally smooth electoral process had solidified Nigeria’s democracy.
“The French head of state assured the President-elect of France’s wish to continue the close relationship that existed with his predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan and reiterated France’s support for Nigeria and its neighbors in their efforts to combat the terrorist sect, Boko Haram,” the statement added.
