The South-East Zone of the Association of Kaduna State indigenes has promised support to the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in the state Malam Nasir El-Rufa’i in the forthcoming election.
The group made its decision known in a statement signed by its president, Alhaji Murtala Mohammed.
It said the decision followed a resolution reached at an extraordinary meeting held by leaders and members of the various ethnic groups in the South-east to ensure that they vote the candidate that will render competent and selfless services to the state, if voted.
The group said its decision to support El-Rufa’i was based on his performance when he was the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The group pointed out that El-Rufa’i has picked the right candidate as his running mate, adding: “Bala Bantex is known to have good leadership traits and committed to alleviating the plight of the less privileged and the deprived in the society.
“We can hardly justify the depth of our gratitude over the unanimous endorsement of El-Rufa’i of APC for Kaduna State governorship 2015 by the various ethnic groups that constitute the South-east Zone of the association of Kaduna State indigenes.”
