The Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, has called on the Nigerian judiciary to punish cattle rustlers with the maximum legal punishment there is.
72 suspected cattle rustlers were recently arrested in the notorious Falgore forest in Tudun Wada Local Government Area of Kano state.
Emir Sanusi also advised the governments to resolve the provision of grazing reserves for the Fulanis so that cattle rustling and other clashes between peripatetic herdsmen and farmers would become a thing of the past.
Several Nigerians have lost their lives to cattle rustlers in the country’s restive north.
