In an unprecedented, and some may say unnecessary move, Imo governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has admitted Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos into the Forum ahead of state polls scheduled for April 11.
The action, which Okorocha says is ‘prophetic’, took place during a town hall meeting at Amuwo Odofin Local government on Monday, where he said he was very sure of Ambode’s victory at the ballot box – because the people of Lagos have already accepted him.
In his words: ‘’Ambode, a man with a track record of excellent performance who served for 27 years in Lagos as auditor general of local governments and later the Accountant General of the state is the best thing to happen to Lagos.
‘’He possesses the wealth of experience to take Lagos to the next level.’’
He also charged all Igbos in Lagos to cast their vote for the ‘man of destiny’ as he called Ambde, saying that God has “prepared him for this season.”
He noted that the lot of Lagosians will only be better under an APC-led government in Lagos, while presenting Ambode and the deputy governor candidate, Alhaja Adegbule to the people.
Ambode thanked Okorocha and all in attendance at the meeting, promising to complete at least 25 roads in all the state’s local government in four years.
