Former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode checked into the offices of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday at around 9:30am and was still there late into the night.
Online newspaper Premium Times, quoted sources at the EFCC as saying the former Director General, media, of the Goodluck Jonathan campaign organization, was subjected to rigorous questioning from investigators.
It was also reported that FFK (as Fani-Kayode is fondly called) was going to spend the night in EFCC custody.
“Nobody has granted him administrative bail,” one of the sources was quoted as saying. “He is still being questioned and he will be passed to another set of investigators when he finishes answering here.”
“There is more than one case against him.”
FFK is being grilled regarding how N840m ended up in his private bank account from former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.
The money was routed through Director of Finance, Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation, Nenadi Usman.
Investigators allege that the fund was part of the $2.1billion meant for the procurement of arms for soldiers waging a war against insurgents in the troubled north east, but which was misappropriated by Dasuki.
