This has been the week when an idiot hired a truck and mowed revelers in Nice, France; when a coup plot in Turkey went horribly wrong; when civilians and police officers arrested the coupists and then beat them to a pulp and when senator Dino Melaye threatened to impregnate and beat up a colleague (Remi Tinubu, to be precise) in parliament.
That last bit happened in Nigeria.
And just when you thought the week couldn’t get any more bizarre, the senator representing Kogi west in Nigeria’s senate, gets aboard a plane, probably in the first class cabin, and then does the unthinkable….
Pause…
In what he’ll consider a show of force, he makes the trip from the Lagos airport to Bourdillon where Bola and Remi Tinubu call their home, and emblazoned in all white regalia, takes a stroll to prove his invincibility and uploads the pictures of his adventure on Twitter for Retweets and commentaries.
There was talk this week that after insulting and verbally abusing Ms Tinubu and husband, Mr Melaye had been declared a persona non grata in Lagos or Bourdillon for that matter. So, this was like taking the fight to the enemy or rubbing it in, as they say.
See his tweets below:
It began as a nice weekend in Lagos

And just so there’s no confusion, there’s the Bourdillon street sign in the background. Just make sure you don’t miss it.

Lagos lies some 533 kilometers (or 331 miles in air travel), from the country’s administrative capital of Abuja. Senator Dino Melaye covered all of that distance just to take a stroll around Bourdillon.
Yeah, you read that last bit right.
