Ondo governor, Olusegun Mimiko and his Ekiti counterpart, the at times vociferous Ayodele Fayose, as well as Governors Sule Lamido of Jigawa, Isa Yuguda (Bauchi), Babangida Aliyu (Niger), Gabriel Suswam (Benue) and Ibrahim Shema (Katsina) were reportedly absent from a meeting between President Goodluck Jonathan and Peoples Democratic Party governors held in Abuja on Wednesday.
At about 4:45pm, the chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Akwa Ibom governor Godswill Akpabio led his colleagues to the meeting at the State House.
The governors in attendance were Emmanuel Uduaghan (Delta), Ibrahim Dankwambo (Gombe), Ramalan Yero (Kaduna), Liyel Imoke (Cross River), Seriake Dickson (Bayelsa), Sullivan Chime (Enugu), Jonah Jang (Plateau), Martin Elechi (Ebonyi) and Idris Wada (Kogi).
Of the absentees, only Fayose ‘delivered’ his state to Jonathan in the Saturday’s presidential poll.
Lamido, Yuguda, Aliyu, Shema and Suswam, who lost their states, also lost senatorial bids.
